Stunning Street Art in Cuba, on Great Atmosphere

In Cuba, two street artists decorated the streets with murals of senior citizens who survived the Cuban Revolution (1953-1959). The artworks are the continuation of the ongoing series named, “The Wrinkles of the City”. The two architects are JR and Jose Parla. The earlier parts of the series were done in Cartagena, Spain and it was reshaped in Shanghai and Los Angeles.

The beautiful pieces of work are located in La Havana, Cuba. The artworks featured Parla, a cuban descent. JR, the French created the portraits where as Parla did the color combination of them while adding depth using the writings.

Spanish artist Nacho Ormaechea who lives and works in Paris creates beautiful digital collages by filling silhouettes of people photographed on the street with visually contradicting images. Because of the these strange juxtapositions of color, place and subject we’re left wondering what the meaning is. Are these memories or desires of these anonymous people, or are they portals to another place and time?

Diving under the ice of the Arctic!

“I feel like an astronaut,” were the first words of 30 years Dytrias Emmanuelle Périé after plunge into the icy waters of the Arctic, beneath huge glaciers of the North Pole. The only woman among eight colleagues who participated in the program «DeepSea Under the Pole», who lived a unique experience in the icy abyss of the ocean, whose temperature is -45 degrees Celsius.

“The ice melted before our eyes, and swam in extreme circumstances, in the most inhospitable and frozen regions of the planet,” he says. This program was designed to explore the unknown underwater areas of the Arctic and Antarctic, the study of diversity and a better scientific understanding of the environment. It is worth noting that it was the first time I took such a dive in one of the harshest climates on the planet and revealed the hidden side of the polar ice caps, something that no one has yet been seen.

Architect Moon Hoon recently designed the Panorama House , in Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea. One of the most unique features incorporated into the home is a wooden slide built directly into a library which also functions as a stair-stepped home theater seating area. Via the architect:

The basic request of upper and lower spatial organization and the shape of the site promted a long and tin house with fluctuating facade which would allow for more differentiated view. The key was coming up with a multi-functional space which is a large staircase, bookshelves, casual reading space, home cinema, slide and many more. The client was very pleased with the design, and the initial design was accepted and finalized almost instantly, only with minor adjustments.

The kitchen and dining space is another important space where family gathers to bond. The TV was pushed away to a smaller living room. The attic is where the best view is possible, it is used as a play room for younger kids. The multi-use stair and slide space brings much active energy to the house, not only children, but also grown ups love the slide staircase. An action filled playful house for all ages.
